Emergency Room Technician (ERT)- East Bank

Job Overview Fairview is looking for an Emergency Room Technician (ERT) to join our ED team at our University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank) in Minneapolis, MN. The Emergency Room Technician (ERT) assists the professional nurse in delivering patient care, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and managing supplies. Depending on unit needs and the discretion of the professional nurse, the ERT may be assigned patient care responsibilities. Schedule: This position will be working 0.70 FTE (56 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours night shifts 11pm-7am. This position will also work an every other weekend rotation. Job Expectations: Provides patient care: u00b7 Transports patients by wheelchair and cart u00b7 Assists patients with ambulation and positioning u00b7 Informs RN of patient/family observations and concerns u00b7 Promptly responds to patient call lights/requests u00b7 Demonstrates concern for patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality u00b7 Performs tasks with adaptations or modifications consistent with patients ages and developmental abilities u00b7 Obtains ordered specimens from patient u00b7 Transports specimens and blood products u00b7 Demonstrates adherence to proper procedures u00b7 Assists in resuscitation u00b7 Functions as nurse extender: assists nurses with patient care activities Documents patient care activities and procedures on the nursing records. u00b7 Documentation is clear, concise, accurate and timely Maintains room/unit and supplies u00b7 Restocks room, supplies, and carts u00b7 Assists with patient room clean-up between patients u00b7 Completes room and cart checklist Performs quality control checks on designated pieces of equipment u00b7 Completes quality control checklist u00b7 Reports discrepancies and malfunctions to charge nurse or manager Required Qualifications (Must have BLS certification and ONE of the following): + Current EMT or ERT certification + Current Paramedic certification + Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the MN Registry + Enrolled in an LPN, RN, or NP program (with at least 1 completed clinical semester) + Six months of recent hands-on patient care experience (acute, long-term, or home care) + Completed Fairviewu2019s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program + LPN licensure Preferred Qualifications: + 1+ years of Emergency Department experience (EMT, ERT, paramedic, scribe, etc.) + Current experience as a CNA or NST Benefit Overview Fairview offers a generous benefits package, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, PTO/vacation and Safe and Sick Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement and more Please follow this link for additional information: Compensation Disclaimer The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting.
