FTE: 0.900000 Standard Hours: 36.00 Shift: Shift 3 Shift Details:3 x 12 hour nights per week. 18:00-06:30. Holidays: Holiday rotationrequired. Weekends: Every third weekend rotation Job Summary: $15,000Sign-on Bonus The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highlyproficient in the management and delivery of respiratory care.Demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures forall patient populations and age groups. Performs and interacts as ahealthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures acutecare areas and critical care areas. Demonstrates critical thinkingskills and the mastery of clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT.Precepts students on rotation. Exhibits leadership skills and is able toact as lead therapist as needed. Under the direction of the PulmonaryServices Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care topatients in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures.EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the abilityto show RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role isrequired. 3+ years of experience in a hospital setting providingrespiratory care is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Associate degreefrom a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required.Bachelor's degree is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Criticalthinking skills are required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsinlicense as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required; RegisteredRespiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care(NBRC) is required. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, theCertified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of theRRT. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma EducatorCertification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator CertificationBoard (NAECB) is preferred.
