Mechanical Design Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Radyne is a world-leading innovator in the design andmanufacture of industrial induction equipment and processes for everyindustry sector. We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineeringmanager to lead our industrial design department. In this position youwill oversee the mechanical engineering team responsible for designing,developing, and producing Industrial Induction manufacturing equipment,systems, and processes. Key Responsibilities: Lead a small team ofmechanical design and industrial manufacturing Engineers. Ability toeffectively delegate and monitor multiple projects at a time. Ensuringprojects are completed on time and within budget. Daily mechanicaldesign work in SolidWorks. Review, approve, and release work from thedepartment, ensuring all designs meet operational, safety, andperformance standards Specify, design, and produce detailed drawingsfor: machine bases, guarding, material handling, actuators, pneumatics,sensors, geared actuators, servos, cams, bearings, pumps, heatexchangers, water-containment, etc. Utilize technical data (e.g.,Machinery Handbook, internet, vendor catalogs) to ensure all designsmeet all customer requirements. Ensure all design changes andspecifications are well documented and accurately archived. Ensureconsistent use of commonly accepted drafting and tolerance practices areimplemented on technical drawings. Provide Guidance, training andmentorship Jr engineers. Utilize knowledge of production techniquesincluding machining, fabricating, welding, assembly, 3D printing,casting, brazing, and material properties. Collaborate acrossdepartments to support continuous improvements in machine design,tooling, manufacturing methods, machining, and materials to increasequality and reduce costs. Job Requirements: BS in Mechanical EngineeringA minimum of 6 years of experience, including at least 3 years ofsuccessful engineering management experience. Possess a strong knowledgeconcerning material strengths and tolerances for various designelements. Minimum of 6 years using SolidWorks or a similar designsoftware. Excellent computer skills. Strong technical writing and oralcommunication skills. Robotics experience is a plus.
