Shift Details: Holidays:Weekends: Job Summary: The Transplant Financial Svcs Coordinator isresponsible for overseeing the processes that ensure the financialviability of all transplant cases as patients flow through the continuumof care. This role will coordinate the work of the Transplant FinancialLiaisons (TFL) and Transplant Insurance Verifiers (TIV). Providesfinancial information and assistance to our patients, throughout thecontinuum of their care, as educators, advocates, and liaisons to ourhealth care system and payors in order to ensure the best financialoutcomes for patients and the institution. This position willcollaborate, coordinate as well as validate information with Finance,Patient Financial Services, Admitting-Insurance Verification,Contracting and other regulatory determinants that may affect thefinancial viability and business growth of the Transplant Center andensure the best financial outcomes for the institution and its patients.The coordinator functions in the TFL role 50% of the time. Also they'llbe responsible for processing invoices and tracking payments. EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: A minimum of 2 years experience as a Transplant FinancialLiaison or similar role within a solid organ transplant program isrequired. Previous supervisory/lead experience is preferred. EDUCATIONDESCRIPTION: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Social Work, Psychology,Nursing, or Health Administration is required. In lieu of a Bachelor'sdegree may accept a combination of education and/or experience inrelated fields is required. TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Leadership training ispreferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Exemplary customer service andstrong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of health insurance terminology,billing, managed care contracting, Medicare and Medicaid entitlements,and hospital reimbursement principals. The ability to work independentlyand take initiative. Thorough attention to detail. Ability to coordinateproject tasks and work effectively with Hospital and otherHospital/College stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communicationskills. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstratesknowledge of various programs, including EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint,Kronos, and UNET. Proficient in office automation, including wordprocessing, spreadsheets, and electronic mail.
