This position is responsible for the preventative and routine maintenance functions for all extrusion equipment and support systems in all manufacturing facilities.This schedule for this position would be one of the following;Sunday-Tuesday and every other Saturday 7:00pm-7:00amWednesday-Friday and every other Saturday 7:00pm-7:00amESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGood understanding of PC's and PLC troubleshootingInstalling new plant equipmentAble to document changes, equipment modifications, and new installationsAbility to plan work that requires knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principals to effectively accomplish assigned work with minimal interruption to productionPractice a predictive/preventative approach to electrical and mechanical maintenance issuesDevelop working mechanical and electrical knowledge of material conveying, process water, chilled water, and compressed air systems that support the production process. Includes proficiency at PMs and the rebuilding of equipment componentsSet up barrels and screws on extrudersSet up all equipment for production runsAbility to effectively accomplish assigned work with minimum supervisionInstall power requirements for equipment modifications and installationsComply with company policies for software updating, filing, and archiving of PLC/PC applicationsKnowledge and experience with CMMS programsComply with established safety rules and company policies and proceduresQUALIFICATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTSMinimum of five years electrical and mechanical experience in maintenance technician roleExperience with blending and extrusion equipment preferredElectrical and Mechanical background; 3 phase, 480v power experience requiredFamiliarity with PC and PLC equipmentMust be able to climb and work at elevated heightsKnowledge of 5S and lean principlesSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilitiesPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, mobility to cover 2 facilities (North & South Plant) is required.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times and steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures in the building, although maintained, can be affected by outside weather conditions.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets.
