This position is based in our Boston, MA, office with a hybrid, fulltime, work schedule; Monday - Thursday in office and Friday remote. Wayfair is looking for an administrative legal professional with 5+ years of paralegal experience to join its litigation and employment law teams. In this role, youu2019ll collaborate with attorneys and cross-functional partners to manage matter workflows, organize and produce legal documents, support discovery and court filings, and maintain internal legal systems. This position is key to ensuring the Legal operations run smoothly by coordinating with outside counsel, tracking deadlines, managing e-discovery and legal billing and serving as a go-to resource for internal stakeholders and outside counsel on process and protocol. What youu2019ll do: + Oversee Wayfairu2019s background check and drug testing programs across North America. + Support in-house counsel in managing and coordinating the full lifecycle of litigation, including case intake, document collection, file organization, and preparing case summaries. + Lead the discovery processes for lawsuits and subpoenas, including implementing legal holds and consulting with outside counsel and internal stakeholders to coordinate witness interviews and gather necessary documents. Will oversee the companyu2019s personnel and employment records. + Manage legal billing technology system and help track and reduce outside counsel spend. + Maintain and create internal playbooks, templates, and process documents to increase efficiency and consistency. + Work cross-functionally and develop relationships with team members and stakeholders across the company to gather and review factual documentation needed to assist with handling of legal matters. + Take on ad hoc projects aimed at improving efficiency, eliminating redundancy, mitigating risk, and any other task as needed. + Prioritize the most critical work and find ways to scale and improve processes. Who you are: + Bacheloru2019s degree with top academic credentials. + 5+years experience working in the legal administrative field is preferred but strong entry level applicants may be considered. Experience at a prior law firm and in-house experience is a plus. + Experience related to any of the following is a plus: e-commerce, commercial disputes, intellectual property, product liability, competition/antitrust, employment and consumer legal issues. + Business-savvy, creative approach to problem-solving; capable of devising novel approaches to process improvements. + Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate a large organization and collaborate cross-functionally. + Takes initiative to independently handle and organize multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced and innovative environment. + Navigates sensitive and confidential information with the highest degree of professionalism and discretion. + Willingness to utilize systems, tools, technology, and AI to solve or prevent problems. + Preferred u2013 or willingness to learn u2013 the following platforms: Legal Tracker, Relativity, Workday, Google Workspace and Sterling First Advantage. + Excellent analytical and writing skills. + Demonstrated ability to anticipate and spot issues and a strong sense of when to escalate (and not escalate) those matters to stakeholders. + A proactive problem-solver committed to addressing legal and business challenges at every level of complexity.
