Position/Dept Summary: Working in Environmental Services makes you an integral part of our hospital. Schedule is Monday-Friday 11pm-730am, every other weekend and holidays Key responsibilities: Plan, organize, directand controlthe workflow in the assigned areas. RearrangeE.S.D. employee assignments to provide coverage for employees vacations and absenteeism Evaluateemployees’ performance, mentorand trainemployees, complete personnel reports, discussproblems, and counselemployees when necessary. Initiatecorrective action procedures when necessary Performrecord keeping such as daily documentation of work performed and payroll hours for employees Conductinspections of assigned areas to ensure that work is being carried out in a proper and orderly manner Providemonthly written documentation of area inspections Establishand maintaininterdepartmental relations with other depts such as: Linen, Dietary, Nursing, Engineering, etc. Continually updatepersonal working knowledge of regulations, area/unit requirements, chemical and equipment use and hospital policies. Recommendchanges in policies and/or procedures to the Director Assignand respondwith staff and equipment when emergency calls and situations arise, such as: fires, floods, disaster alerts and activations Evaluatenew cleaning products, materials and equipment. Ordersupplies as needed, reporton equipment needs and conditions Providecoverage for other supervisors during their absences. AssistE.S.D. employees with assigned tasks when necessary Monitorspecialized areas such as the receiving docks and entrances for cleaning and illegally parked vehicles Collaboratewith the Security Department for towing of illegally parked vehicles Education: A High School Diploma/ GED is required Experience : 2 years experience is required Experience managing teams Floor Care experience is highly preferred The ability to solve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions and well developed writing skills in English Environmental Service positions are currently eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,000
