Applicants must be available to be present on campus. Housing will be provided if needed in an on-campus apartment.u00a0Job Purpose:The KCTFHR Collection was donated in Summer 2024, facilitated by Dr. Tony Stewart, as a means to long-term preservation and increased access of the materials, formerly housed at North Idaho College. This collection documents decades of community action for social justice and human rights in Kootenai Country, particularly Coeur d'Alene, ID. Materials in this collection cover the period during which the Aryan Nations compound in Hayden, ID was impacting the community and the progressive response from the community to shut down those actions. Materials in this collection may depict or discuss events and actions that are challenging and upsetting to most people.The collection includes boxes of text documents along with 3D objects and digital files of both text and A/V content. The collection will need inventory, assessment, organizing, processing, and describing across both physical and digital formats. Support for these processes is available, but the fellow will need to be self-driven and initiative-oriented in proceeding.Essential Functions:- 80% - Collection Management For the KCTFHR Collection: - Inventory of materials Assess for relevance, gaps, context, retention, etc. - Organize both physical and digital assets Describe in DACS and EAD compliant formats Preserve, including consideration of best preservation methods for digital files Access. - Suggest protocols and limitations for access to any materials in collection which may need restriction and work with library colleagues for enhancing access to materials for broad dissemination.- 20% - Network Development Outreach: - For connection, information-sharing, and support to other archives with similar collection types for the purpose of developing a network of archives facing similar considerations. - Connection with KCTFHR and Gonzaga University members for donor relations and continuity of context and information.```{=html}```- Additional Duties as Assigned by the DepartmentEducational Requirement:Bachelor's DegreeYears of Related Experience Requirement:In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.u00a0Skills & Abilities:u20222nd year graduate student, or higher, in a Master's Degree with archival training, from an ALA accredited program (recent graduates also eligible)u2022Willingness to step into a role and create structure, pace, and goalsu2022Confidence to outreach for guidance, research on best practices and approaches, and relationshipu2022Ability to work with materials that depict hate propaganda, use of self-care in dealing with said materials is encouragedu2022Ability to communicate effectively in multiple formatsu2022Strong research skillsu2022Demonstra
