Dentist Job Category: Healthcare Provider Requisition Number:DENTI001057 Full-Time On-site Springfield, MA 01103, USA Reports to:Dental Director Supervises: Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, DentalStudents, and Externs. Salary/Status: Exempt Minimum Requirements: 1.Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine; at least one (1)year of directly related experience which may include completion of anaccredited general practice residency program. 2. Experienced with orhaving a strong interest in addressing the health care needs of lowincome, special needs or disadvantaged populations. 3. Committed tocommunity empowerment; sensitive to and respectful of culturaldifferences of the patient population. 4. Able to work with amulti-disciplinary team. Principle Responsibilities and Duties: 1.Provide and manage direct patient care, including examinations,evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specifiedpatient population. 2. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, andtreatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. 3.Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components asappropriate. 4. Direct and coordinate the patient care activities ofdental technical and support staff as required. 5. Follow establisheddepartmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous qualityimprovement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infectioncontrol standards. 6. As appropriate to the position, participates inspecified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs. 7.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities Required: 1. Ability to foster a cooperative workenvironment. 2. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infectioncontrol standards. 3. Ability to work both independently and in a teamenvironment. 4. Ability to supervise and train employees, to includeorganizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. 5. Knowledgeof related accreditation and certification requirements. 6. Knowledge ofcommunity medical diagnostic and patient care services in area ofmedical expertise. 7. Knowledge of current principles, methods andprocedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis andtreatment in area of expertise. 8. Effective verbal and writtencommunication skills. 9. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards forthe delivery of dental surgical care. 10. Ability to observe, assess,and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. 11. Knowledge of relevantdrugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribedosages and instruct patients in correct usage. Working Conditions: 1.This position may require the ability to work long and arduous hours. 2.Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materialsand situations that require following extensive safety precautions andmay include the use of protective equipment. 3. Will work with blood orblood-borne pathogens. 4. This position requires the ability to use acomputer workstation, viewing a CRT. Salary ranges from $140,000 -$188,156.80
