Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a key member of our finance department, you will oversee critical accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and contribute to maintaining compliance and internal controls. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with project managers and leadership teams, driving financial transparency and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare, analyze, and review monthly financial statements and job cost reports to support informed decision-making. u2022 Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and consistency. u2022 Collaborate with HR to verify wage calculations, benefits administration, and deductions for payroll accuracy. u2022 Monitor construction project budgets, working closely with project managers and controllers to track costs effectively. u2022 Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data using Foundation accounting software. u2022 Assist with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning to support organizational goals. u2022 Ensure compliance with tax regulations and organizational policies, maintaining accountability in all financial processes. u2022 Coordinate and support both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and insights. u2022 Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and internal controls for improved efficiency. u2022 Communicate regularly with leadership teams to provide updates on accounting matters and financial performance. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. u2022 Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry. u2022 Strong knowledge of job costing, work-in-process accounting, and construction accounting principles. u2022 Proficiency with accounting software, particularly Foundation, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. u2022 Excellent analytical abilities and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail. u2022 Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. u2022 High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in managing sensitive financial information. u2022 Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and practices relevant to the role.
