Human Resources Business Partner Date: Jan 8, 2026 Location: Birmingham, AL, US, 35203 Company: Spire Inc. Summary Spire is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to work onsite in our Birmingham, AL operating center. This position will be responsible for consulting with local and regional leaders within assigned business units as well as providing guidance and support to the business across all areas of Human Resources. Duties and Responsibilities u2022 Function as an internal consultant to management and others by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, proposing solutions, and understanding/representing the employee perspective u2022 Provide day to day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) to the business across a breadth of areas including employee relations, change management, employee development and performance assessment u2022 Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations including claims of discrimination and harassment, and serves as a resource for employees with related questions and concerns u2022 Drive an inclusive culture throughout the organization using data, metrics, and industry best practices. Support EEO and Affirmative Action initiatives, assuring that training, communications, and policies are in place and are effectively functioning to address areas of under-utilization and assure compliance with corporate objectives u2022 Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning. u2022 Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions and work with the business to ensure plans are actively in practice u2022 Assist with labor relations initiatives, assuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and NLRB legislation, including contract preparation, negotiations, and interpretation u2022 Maintain an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. u2022 Keep abreast of current HR legislation and trends and assist in the updating of programs as required u2022 All other duties as assigned Essential Characteristics u2022 Ability to lead by example in support of the companyu2019s essential characteristics and values: strong ethics and integrity, dedication to a safe work environment, commitment to an inclusive workforce that recognizes and respects every individualu2019s unique skills and perspectives u2022 Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors. u2022 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines u2022 Ability to adapt in a fast-moving and changing culture u2022 Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people u2022 Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlines u2022 Strong oral and written communication skills u2022 Ability to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude for this dynamic environment u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Supervisory Responsibilities None Required Education (certifications, licenses) u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree required Required knowledge, skill and abilities u2022 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role (HRBP, HRG) required u2022 SPHR/PHR Certification preferred Physical demands, environment and schedule u2022 Hybrid Work Enviroment: three (3) onsite days/two (2) remote days per week u2022 Work is normally performed in a shared office environment u2022 Ability to travel up to 15-20% Company Overview We are committed to understanding the needs of the homes and businesses we serve.
