Join our dynamic Transportation team in Reston, Virginia and play a key role in redefining how people and goods move. As a Transportation/Traffic Engineer, youu2019ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of roadway designers, traffic engineers, planners, and operations experts to deliver innovative, multimodal solutions that improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability.What Youu2019ll Do:u2022Lead traffic engineering and transportation planning projects focused on intersections, freeways, and arterial corridors.u2022Conduct traffic operations and safety studies using tools like Synchro, VISSIM, and HCM/HSM methodologies.u2022Develop traffic control devices, traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking design, plans, specifications, and estimates for traffic designs incorporating traffic engineering requirements into rodaway plans andu2022Preparing plans using design software such as CADD, OpenRoads Designer, and MicroStation.u2022Prepare and present high-quality technical reports to clients in both virtual and in-person settings.u2022Apply a multimodal lens to every projectu2014accounting for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and drivers across diverse environments.When you join us, you'll bring:u2022Knowledge of traffic engineering, transportation planning, and operations analysis.u2022Proficiency in traffic modeling and simulation tools.u2022Strong communication skills for client engagement and project presentations.u2022Excellent writing skillsu2022Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.#LM1236 u2022Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.u2022EIT certificationu2022Experience in traffic engineering and analysis, preferably 4-6 years' experience.u2022Hands-on experience with Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, Sidra, or similar tools.u2022Proven ability to lead on-call tasks and collaborate with VDOT and other clients.u2022Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Ideally, you'll also haveu2022Professional Engineer (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.u2022PTOE certificationJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
