You will maintain responsibility for the installation of new equipment and operating systems to best suit the needs of analysis to be conducted and the engineers requiring support. You'll support the review ofcurrentinfrastructure to provide an overview and prepare plans for improvement and enhancement that will increase efficiency and security within the network. You will maintain responsibility for cutting-edge computing systems and the evaluation of their use for research in furtherance of the mission.Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You'll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.Join us. The world can't wait.You Have:7+ years of experience as a system administratorExperience configuring and managing Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems, including installing or loading operating systemsoftware, troubleshooting, maintaining integrity of and configuring network components, and implementing operating systems enhancements to improve security, reliability, and performanceExperience administering, monitoring, and maintaining HPC systems, including compute nodes, storage, networking, andsoftware stacks, and supporting researchers by implementing technical solutions and resolving IT roadblocks or issuesExperience providing support to IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client, server, storage, or network or mobile devicesExperience optimizing system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning, and contributing to performance benchmarking, system tuning, and capacity planningKnowledge of network engineeringAbility to communicate with researchers to develop computing environments that will optimize resultsTop Secret clearanceHS diploma or GED8570/8140.02 IAT Level II certificationNice If You Have:Experience with network fundamentals and network troubleshootingExperience in shell scripting and diagnosing open-source issuesExperience with system automation tools or system provisioning toolsExperience with distributed storage systems and containerization toolsExperience installing, maintaining, and using infrastructure and performance monitoring and optimization toolsExperience setting up and executing benchmarks in an HPC environment and analyzing their results systematicallyExperience with SAPTS/SCI clearanceBachelor's degree in System Administration, Network Administration, Computer Information Systems, or Computer ScienceRedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) CertificationClearance:Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secretclearance is pensationAt Booz Allen, we celebrate your contributions, provide you with opportunities and choices, and support your total well-being.
