We partner with our Nurses at Methodist Hospital Job Summary and Qualifications The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and charge nurse duties in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organizationu2019s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.u200bu200bu200b Essential Job Functions: + Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care. + u200bExercises judgement and provides direction regarding patient care assignments using established policies/procedures. + u200bOperationalizes evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. + u200bSupports the achievement of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations. + u200bEnsures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. + u200bEnsures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards. + u200bAssists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care. + u200bParticipates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team. + u200bCollects comprehensive data pertinent to the patientsu2019 needs and situation. + u200bTriages the patient utilizing age, developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive practices to prioritize and optimize patient flow, expediting those who require immediate care. + u200bAnalyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis or issues, identifies expected outcomes, plans care, implements and evaluates progress toward the attainment of the expected outcomes. + u200bCommunicates effectively and collaborates with patients, families and others in the conduct of nursing practice. + u200bDemonstrates competency in EMTALA regulations. + u200bPractices ethically and in an environmentally safe and healthy manner. + u200bReflects core values when interacting with co-workers, patients, family members, and others in the community to foster an environment where employees are engaged and where patient care is unparalleled. + u200bEnsures compliance with evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service. + u200bCollaborates with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service. + u200bSupports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary. + u200bLeads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization. + u200bSupports the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives. + u200bFunctions as a resource person for staff members. Provides coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance and engagement. + u200bProvides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively superior organization. + u200bResolves and/or channels employee grievances, disputes, or concerns according to appropriate procedures. Escalates issues as needed. + u200bSupports physician partnerships. + u200bRepresents the organization positively within the community; participates in company-supported community/patient events and in-services. + u200bServes as the charge nurse for the unit, scheduling staff and managing all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines. + u200bSupports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment. + u200bPerforms other duties as assigned. + u200bPractices and adheres to the u201cCode of Conductu201d and u201cMission and Value Statement.u201d What Qualifications you will need: + Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma u200bu200bRequiredu200b + Bachelor's Degree in Nursing u200bu200bPreferredu200b + 1+ years applicable experience u200bu200bRequiredu200b Benefits Methodist Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
