Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial processes, analyzing data, and driving process improvements while collaborating across departments. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end close processes and ensure accurate financial reporting. u2022 Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify trends and actionable insights. u2022 Reconcile intercompany transactions and maintain consistency across entities. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, insurance policies, budgeting processes, and internal controls. u2022 Supervise the Credit/Accounts Receivable Analyst to ensure smooth operations. u2022 Maintain fixed asset records, prepare depreciation schedules, and post related journal entries. u2022 Analyze inventory reports and propose enhancements for efficiency. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions. u2022 Collaborate with colleagues and business partners to provide exceptional support. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or distribution. u2022 Proficiency in month-end close procedures, variance analysis, and intercompany transactions. u2022 Strong knowledge of corporate tax, journal entries, general ledger, budgeting, and internal controls. u2022 Experience with financial reporting and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. u2022 Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. u2022 Detail-oriented and proactive with a focus on continuous improvement.
