Known as one of FORTUNE'S “100 Best Companies to Work For,' Kimley-Horn is seeking a Building Structures Practice leader based in Dallas (Frisco), TX.This position will support the growth of our building structures practice in the Dallas Metroplex, sitting in our Frisco office.Develop and maintain good relationships with coworkers, industry peers, and clients.Perform and review structural design calculations, prepare project document submittal packages, and maintain the highest quality for the entire project.Conduct site investigations and structural evaluations while documenting field observations and preparing technical reports.Support and participate in meetings and presentations with clients, owners, contractors, and design team members.Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients.Leadership responsibilities include:Operating with integrity and sound business principalsProviding vision, business planning and strategyEstablishing goalsBuilding and maintaining positive client relationshipsHaving open communication with your partners and teamGrowing and leading a structural practiceOur Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership.At least 12 years of diversified structural engineering experienceRegistered Professional Engineer desiredHistory of providing technical design and planning on a variety of structures projectsKnowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup with some ability to produce drawings and details, as neededKnowledge and experience in structural analysis and design softwareExcellent communication, leadership, and technical skillsStrong client contacts/relationships with the desire and ability to be continually engage with clientsAbility to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organizationAbility to manage and mentor staff and direct resources effectively in a positive mannerDemonstrated ability to manage projects profitablyExperience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected workAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
