Maintenance/Plant Relief Operator IThe successful candidate assists in the operation and basic maintenance of wastewater facilities, including wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), sludge handling/dewatering, lift stations, collection systems and SCADA system. Performs routine monitoring, basic troubleshooting of wastewater facilities. Supports Maintenance and Relief Operator II and Lead Operator in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.Maintenance/Plant Relief Operator IIThe successful candidate will operate, monitor, maintain and plan the operation of wastewater facilities including, wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), sludge handling/dewatering, lift stations, collection systems and SCADA system. Performs monitoring, coordination, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing of wastewater facilities. Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of wastewater plants equipment as well as lift stations according to the O & M manuals. These include but not limited to pumps, Motor Control Centers, pumps, meters SCADA control systems, vehicles etc. Troubleshoot electrical systems that range from 4-20ma to 480Volt 3ph. Assist in maintaining generators.Performs basic monitoring and control of wastewater treatment plant, dewatering process, and pumping equipment according to process control parameters through Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems.Conduct necessary routine daily testing according to IDEM regulations. Recording and documenting these results in their proper place within Hach Wims and MRO Reports.Operates Light & Heavy Equipment (Vactor, Backhoe, Dump Truck, Crane Truck, Fork Truck, snow removal and mowing equipment).Assist in ordering parts and materials for WWTP, lift stations and other facilities as needed. Maintains repair parts stocks.Maintenance/Plant Relief Operator IIOperates, maintains, troubleshoots and repair wastewater treatment plant equipment as well as lift stations. Performs or coordinates maintenance on all equipment both Water and Wastewater according to the O & M manuals. These include but not limited to pumps, Motor Control Centers, pumps, meters SCADA control systems, vehicles etc. Troubleshoot electrical systems that range from 4-20ma to 480Volt 3ph. Assist in maintaining all generators.Monitors and controls and/or directs the operation of treatment and dewatering, and pumping equipment according to process control parameters through Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems.Conduct necessary daily testing according to IDEM regulations. (Must have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years).Minimum of 0 to 5 years wastewater system operations and maintenance or equivalent maintenance experience.Ability of operate fork truckMust be organized and capable to maintain recordsAbility to work alone, in various positions, which require but are not limited to sitting, bending, standing, walking, lifting and climbing in all types of weather conditionsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Must demonstrate a working ability to use a computer or computer device for record keepingRequires reading, math, written and verbal communication skillsRequires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions as well as work alone in certain situationsMust have the ability to work well and communicate with customers, management and the general public; and to establish effective working relationships with other employeesKnowledge of various pumping, electrical and, building mechanical systemsAbility to be on-call as assigned and to work overtime, weekend or nights from time to timePreferred Skills/Qualifications:Post-secondary education or technical classesAbility to work within asset management/work order systemsHeavy equipment operation experienceClass B CDL with tanker endorsement.IDEM Wastewater licenseIWEA Collection System CertificationVac truck operation experienceBasic electrical knowledge and troubleshootingChemical safety and equipment safety certificationsKnowledge of GPS technologyProficiency in Outlook, Word and ExcelExperience and knowledge of water, sanitary and irrigation codesAbility to work with confidential information, use discretion and best judgmentMust be detailed, highly organized and able to prioritizeProficient with GIS (ESRI), , & SCADA. Knowledge of pertinent OSHA safety regulations.Maintenance/Plant Relief Operator IIMinimum of 5 years wastewater system operations and maintenance or equivalent maintenance experience, or 4 years wastewater system operations and maintenance experience or equivalent maintenance experience with a Class III or IV wastewater license, or Class B CDL with tanker endorsement.Must have and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license.
