Remote SRE

Job Description A large financial organization is seeking a Remote SRE for a contract opportunity through the end of the year. This position can sit remotely, but must be able to work EST. This individual will be brought on to automate tasks, monitor system health, manage incidents, and ensure systems meet reliability targets like uptime and performance for the companyu2019s embedded payment processing solution. Key responsibilities: u2022 Build and maintain the production infrastructure and services. u2022 Ensure proper security for the infrastructure. u2022 Troubleshoot production issues. u2022 Develop/maintain processes, tools, and documentation in support of production. u2022 Participate in the evaluation of new software, hardware, and infrastructure solutions. u2022 Experience as a er working with large distributed systems u2022 Experience with a variety of scripting languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools (e.g. Go, Java, Python, Perl, Shell) u2022 Experience with a continuous integration and delivery model of deploying software u2022 Automation skills with Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack or similar u2022 Experience with one or more of the following: PHP, Go, Python, Scala, Ruby, Javascript, Memcached, LAMP, nginx, node.js, nosql, Varnish u2022 Working knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, continuous integration and push button deployments u2022 Experience as either a LAMP stack software developer and/or systems administrator/systems engineer u2022 Experience with high-availability, high-performance, open source web technologies u2022 Experience with cloud platforms, open source databases and caching layers u2022 Automates all infrastructure build out in AWS utilizing Ansible, Packer, and Terraform u2022 Distributed Systems, DFS, Kubernetes (k8s), Sarm, Mesosphere, Docker, Services Discovery, Container Orchestration, DFW, Apache, SPark, Hadoop, CLI, API, DevOps, Consul, vault, and microservice.
