The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for heavy civil engineering projects, including highways, bridges, tunnels, and large-scale infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy civil construction processes, materials, and cost structures. District Overview Kiewit Power Delivery is a full-service engineering and construction solutions provider, completing projects of all sizes and complexity. Across North America, our experience spans all transmission and distribution market aspects from high-voltage overhead and underground transmission to distribution design, automation design and construction capabilities. Responsibilities u2022 Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. u2022 Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints. u2022 Conduct site visits to gather information on project conditions and constraints. u2022 Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. u2022 Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. u2022 Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for accuracy and completeness. u2022 Prepare and present bid proposals to clients and stakeholders. u2022 Monitor and update cost estimates as project conditions change. u2022 Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules. u2022 Participate in post-bid reviews and project handover meetings. Qualifications u2022 Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. u2022 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil estimating or a related role. u2022 Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques. u2022 Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, and engineering drawings. u2022 Proficiency in estimating software and tools, InEight Estimate (HardDollar) preferred u2022 Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. u2022 Strong attention to detail and accuracy. u2022 Effective communication and interpersonal skills. u2022 Ability to work independently and as part of a team. u2022 Willing to travel as the position requires. #LI-RF1 Other Requirements: + Regular, reliable attendance + Work productively and meet deadlines timely + Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. + Perform work safely and effectively.
