We partner with our Nurses at St. David's South Austin Medical Center Job Summary and Qualifications As a Patient Flow Coordinator, youu2019ll play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely, efficient, and compassionate care from the moment they arrive in the Emergency Department. Youu2019ll oversee patient movement, balance department resources, and work closely with clinical and operational teams to maintain a steady flow that supports both quality care and staff efficiency. Through collaboration, communication, and quick decision-making, youu2019ll help minimize wait times, improve patient experiences, and enhance overall department performance. Your responsibilities will include: + Collaborating with Emergency Department staff to ensure appropriate patient placement and efficient movement throughout all stages of care + Coordinating EMS transports and triage operations to support timely room assignments, hand-offs, and safe transitions of care + Partnering with the Nursing Supervisor to facilitate patient transfers and admissions from the Emergency Department + Monitoring staffing levels and patient volumes to recommend optimal scheduling that maintains safe and effective workflow + Analyzing wait times, test turnaround, and other throughput indicators to identify process improvements and promote operational efficiency + Acting as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and hospital departments to foster communication, teamwork, and exceptional patient experiences What qualifications you will need: + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + (RN) Registered Nurse + Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree Benefits St. David's South Austin Medical Center, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
