NVE does not manufacture products; instead, we provide engineering, project execution, field services, and technical support under rigorous nuclear quality programs.Position SummaryNVE is seeking a Quality Engineer / Quality Assurance Engineer to own, implement, and maintain our nuclear Quality Assurance Program across engineering and project execution activities. This role is focused on procedural compliance, program effectiveness, and requirements flow-down, ensuring that NVE personnel and subcontractors perform work in accordance with ASME NQA-1 and customer-specific quality requirements.This position is not a manufacturing quality or inspection role. The successful candidate will be experienced in project-based nuclear QA, working alongside engineering and project teams to ensure quality is built into the work through proper planning, procedures, and documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesNuclear Quality Program OversightMaintain, implement, and continuously improve NVE's ASME NQA-1-based Quality Assurance ProgramEnsure compliance with NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B (as applicable), and customer-specific QA requirementsManage QA procedures, work instructions, and supporting documentationProject Quality SupportWork closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Personnel to integrate QA requirements into project executionSupport project planning activities including quality plans, procedure selection, and requirement flow-downEnsure contract, regulatory, and customer QA requirements are maintained throughout the project lifecycleProcedure & Documentation ControlDevelop, revise, and maintain QA and project support proceduresEnsure proper document control, records management, and configuration managementReview project documentation for compliance with applicable QA requirementsSupplier & Subcontractor OversightReview supplier and subcontractor documentation for compliance with purchase orders and QA requirementsSupport supplier qualification, oversight, and surveillance activities (as required)Provide QA support for vendor audits and evaluationsAudits & AssessmentsPlan, perform, and support internal and external auditsSupport customer, regulatory, and third-party auditsTrack audit findings, corrective actions, and effectiveness reviewsCorrective Action & Continuous ImprovementSupport the corrective action program, including issue identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action developmentMonitor quality trends and program effectivenessRecommend improvements to processes and procedures based on lessons learnedSafety, Health and EnvironmentalEnsure quality activities are performed in accordance with applicable Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) requirements, and identify, document, and escalate SHE concerns encountered during quality workSupport integration of SHE considerations into quality procedures, project plans, and supplier oversight activities, and reinforce safe work practices during QA-related engagementsQualificationsRequired2+ years of Quality Assurance experience in the commercial nuclear industry or government nuclear workHands-on experience working under ASME NQA-1 and/or 10 CFR 50 Appendix BBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical fieldExperience working in a project-based engineering or services organizationAbility to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contractual r quirementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferredASME or ANSI Lead Auditor certificationExperience supporting engineering services, field services, or project execution (not manufacturing)Familiarity with customer-specific nuclear QA flow-down requirementsTravelUp to 10% travel, domestic and occasional international, to support projects, audits, and customer engagementsWhy work at Safariland?At Safariland our colleagues are some of the best and brightest in the industry and we are seeking new team members who exhibit the diverse competencies that will drive The Safariland Group to even greater success while maintaining our culture of being a great place to work.
