Pediatrician Job Category: Healthcare Provider Requisition Number:PEDIA001015 Full-Time On-site Springfield, MA 01103, USA MinimumRequirements: Maintenance of unrestricted Massachusetts medical pletion of the M.D. degree. Completion of three years post-graduateresidency training in an accredited pediatric residency program. AAPBoard eligibility in Pediatrics. Maintenance of current DEA andMassachusetts Controlled Substances registrations. Demonstrated abilityto provide quality care in a high-volume, multicultural health Centersetting. Qualification for staff privileges at Baystate Medical Centerand Mercy Medical Center, and maintenance of such privileges during jobtenure. Qualification as a provider for major insurers. Desirable: AAPBoard Certification in Pediatrics Fluency in Spanish, Russian, Arabic,or other language spoken by the Health Center's patient populationSpecial expertise in provision of health care to underserved, culturallydiverse populations Principle Responsibilities and Duties: Provideclinical care to children and adolescents Perform scheduled on-callduties, or find coverage when unable to participate Perform clerical andadministrative tasks needed for quality patient care. Participate inHealth Center and community health education activities and munications: Demonstrates sensitivity and responds appropriately toverbal and non-verbal communications of patients, families andco-workers. Maintains patient's right to privacy, assuring dignity inthe provision of care; is discreet in all communications, written ororal, about the patient's care. Problem Resolution: Consistentlyutilizes good judgment in the resolution of problems, clinical andnon-clinical. Possesses the ability to act independently and is willingto make decisions utilizing good judgment. Has the ability to visualizeand anticipate new problems and to be part of the problem-solvingprocess. Interpersonal Skills: Utilizes tact, courtesy, patience, anddiscretion in dealing with others. Posses the ability to maintain astable presence under stress due to pressure of the work environment.Career Development: Attends and actively participates in scheduled staffmeetings. Participates in professional staff teaching, both formal andinformal. Maintains clinical competence through on-going medicaleducation and training. Maintains courtesy privileges at local hospitals(Mercy, Baystate). Working Conditions: 1. This position may require theability to work long and arduous hours. 2. On-call coverage is generallyrequired; frequency depends upon need. 3. There is potential exposure topatient blood and body fluids. 4. This position requires the ability touse a computer workstation, viewing a CRT.
