In this role, under the direction of the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and timely scheduling of procedure-based cases, communicating with surgical offices, specialty clinics, and clinical staff on a daily basis, and proactively identifying issues related to equipment and staff coverage for surgical care or procedures. The position is a full-time, 40-hour role scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Job Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): u00b7 Coordinate and schedule surgical and procedural cases. u00b7 Serve as a liaison between surgical offices, admitting, anesthesia, and nursing staff to ensure efficient scheduling and resource utilization. u00b7 Verify case details, including procedure type, diagnosis codes, required settings, and other special needs prior to scheduling. u00b7 Ensure proper sequencing and timing of cases to optimize patient flow and operating room efficiency. u00b7 Understand and adhere to block booking policies and daily schedule limits. u00b7 Proactively communicate potential conflicts and overbookings to providers and affected surgical offices or clinics. u00b7 Provide excellent customer service to clinical staff, surgeons, and administrative counterparts. u00b7 Perform occasional maintenance of Epic scheduling templates. u00b7 Provides patient education with regard to procedures such as patient prep-instructions u00b7 May complete portions of the financial clearing process, including prior authorizations and insurance referrals for all surgical procedures u00b7 May use Craneware and other specialty software for medical necessity and prior authorization checks u00b7 Reviews authorization requirements, benefit coverage, and cost-sharing information for surgical procedures utilizing online provider portals. u00b7 Educates patients on cost-sharing information and collecting pre-payment and/or referring to Financial Counselors prior to scheduling surgery u00b7 May work with a third-party company for image and pathology coordination prior to scheduling surgeries QUALIFICATIONS: u00b7 High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary business coursework preferred. u00b7 A minimum of two yearsu2019 experience in procedural services or other healthcare settings preferred. u00b7 Basic understanding of medical terminology. u00b7 Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clinical and administrative teams. u00b7 Demonstrated proficiency with PC systems and multiple software applications. Epic experience preferred. u00b7 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: u00b7 Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. u00b7 Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. u00b7 Manual dexterity for computer use and office equipment. u00b7 Written and verbal fluency in English. u00b7 Consistently promote a culture of Wellbeing, Empathy, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Equity as outlined in the organization's WE CARE values. u00b7 Demonstrated commitment and actions to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment Pay Range: $49,358.00 USD - $66,435.00 USD The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
