Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Agoura Hills, California. This role involves preparing and filing various tax returns, analyzing financial documents, and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance. u2022 Review financial records, income statements, and prior-year returns to verify accuracy and completeness. u2022 Organize and analyze client tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, and deductions. u2022 Identify tax-saving opportunities, credits, and deductions while adhering to all regulations. u2022 Calculate tax liabilities, refunds, and estimated quarterly payments efficiently. u2022 Communicate with clients to gather missing information and explain tax outcomes clearly. u2022 Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial and personal information. u2022 Provide tax planning strategies and year-round guidance to clients. u2022 Respond to notices from tax agencies and assist clients with audits when necessary. u2022 Stay informed about updates to tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation. u2022 Proficiency in preparing individual and business tax returns. u2022 Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations. u2022 Experience with tax preparation software, such as Lacerte Tax Software. u2022 Ability to analyze financial documents and identify tax-saving opportunities. u2022 Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients. u2022 High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. u2022 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
