In this position, you will serve as a technical lead on challenging software development projects. You will be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and Visualization technologies. This position is located in Fulton, MD and does require some travel to customer sites as needed. What You Will Do: + Serve as technical leader of small to medium engineering development teams. + Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (V&V), formal testing, and software installation. + Work with department systems engineering subject matter experts to solve critical technical problems with innovative solutions. Qualifications You Must Have: + Experience as lead systems or test engineer on a software development program. + Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer: + Experience with any of these systems: Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control Systems, or Shipboard Combat Systems such as Aegis and SSDS Mk II. + Experience with Systems of Systems Software Integration and Test across multiple operating environments such as Linux, Windows, Virtual Machines, and Containers. + Experience with software development in Java and C++ and scripting in Linux shells, PowerShell, and Python. + Experience with on-site customer software installation and systems integration along with leading formal software qualification tests and demonstrations. + Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML). + Understanding requirements development and experience using requirements management tools, such as DOORS. + Understanding of designing system architectures and experience using architecture development tools, such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect or Rational Suite. + Understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the systems engineering field (ISO/IEC/IEEE).
