Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description: Apply today and ask about our Sign on Bonus of up to $20,000 and Relocation Bonus + 0-1 years of experience: $10,000 + 1-3 years of experience: $15,000 + 3+ years of experience: $20,000 7 North (7N) is a specialized cardiac telemetry unit focused on the care of patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery, including procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and various thoracic and vascular surgeries. After patients stabilize in the critical care unit, they are typically transferred to 7N for continued care. Nurses on 7N are trained to provide expert care for patients with complex cardiac conditions, including those with Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs). They are skilled in managing a variety of critical interventions, such as chest tubes, central lines, and temporary pacemakers, ensuring optimal recovery and patient outcomes. Click here: Find a Location Des Moines, Iowa (IA), MercyOne Des Moines ( : Join the MercyOne Family We are looking to hire an amazing Cardiac Telemetry RN As a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Telemetry unit at MercyOne, you will provide individualized, high-quality care to patients of all ages. You will use a team approach to delegate and coordinate care during admission, transfer, and discharge. In this role, you will independently deliver nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, MercyOne policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. + Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort. + Practices safe patient handling techniques. + Continuously evaluates assigned patients and provides ongoing treatment. + Anticipates, identifies, and responds to the educational and emotional needs of patients and families. + Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients. + Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices). + Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug libraries and monitor alarms whenever available to maximize patient safety. + Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patients from injury). + Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).
