This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautifulSt. LucieRiver.The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it not only an excellent medical facility, but also a home away from home.The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient supports daily pharmacy operations within a collaborative inpatient pharmacy team that includes a Buyer responsible for medication purchasing, a Lead Pharmaceutical Technician overseeing daily workflows, an Automation Technician managing inventory automation systems and approximately 30 pharmacy technicians supporting hospital-wide service lines. Reporting to Raquel and the Pharmacy Operations Manager, this role assists with medication preparation, unit-dose packaging, carousel utilization and timely delivery to patient care areas while also supporting inventory management, expiration monitoring and technology implementations. Prior hospital pharmacy experience is preferred and candidates with informal leadership experience or prior stretch assignments are encouraged to applyThis is a full-time position. A caregiver in this role will work various 8-hr shifts from 6:30am to 11:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterilecompoundingand sterile compounding.Deliver medications to theappropriate storagelocations inan accurateandtimelymanner.Maintainaccurateandappropriate inventoriesof medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Maintain a safe and clean work area bycomplying withprocedures, rules and regulations, anddocumentregulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduledactivitiesand training.Use information systems,technologyand automation to complete assigned tasks.Assistwith the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:A high school diploma or GEDLicensedin Florida as a Registered Pharmacy TechnicianAbility to communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive mannerDemonstration of emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationshipsAbility to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compoundsBasic computer skillsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training programSix months of hospital experienceCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).CPhTthrough the PTCB isrequiredwithin18 monthsof hirePhysical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.Personal Protective Equipment:• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeSalaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
