JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) isa regional governmental agency that serves 1.1 million people in thegreater Milwaukee area. MMSD is seeking qualified candidates for theposition of Senior Project Manager in the Technical Services Division.Reporting to the Section Manager, you will provide project managementservices for assigned MMSD projects to ensure completion is on time,within budget, and the needs of collaborators and stakeholders are met.These projects involve the development of cost-effective solutions towatercourse flood management. Manage consultant and other professionalservice contracts to ensure conformance with MMSD policies, procedures,and standards. Ensure contracts are completed within schedule andbudget. Review and provide input to applicable models, plans, andreports created for various projects and offer solutions to relatedissues. Ensure completion of all required project documentation andrecordkeeping. Accurately manage databases to track and update work.Coordinate and communicate with the construction team, that manage andadminister construction contracts, to ensure all provisions of thecontract are in compliance with contract documents and regulations.Provide quality assurance reviews. Prepare and advertise requestsfor proposals (RFPs) for procurement of consultants and otherprofessional services related to assigned projects. Prepare scheduleand estimates for MMSD's annual and long-range capital and operationsand maintenance (O&M) budgets. Assist other MMSD departments (e.g.Legal, Engineering Planning, etc.) with technical expertise as needed.Manage the acquisition of all required easements, permits, andintergovernmental cooperation agreements for assigned projects andcontracts. Comply with safety work rules and regulations while onproject sites. Complete special projects as assigned. OTHEREXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in civilengineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineeringdiscipline. Six years of job-related experience (advanced educationdegrees will be considered in lieu of experience). Valid WIProfessional Engineer (PE) license required. Experience withwatercourse design work, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (1D & 2D),Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) and Federal EmergencyManagement Agency (FEMA) floodplain map revisions, and permitting.Strong project management and organizational skills. High degree ofinterpersonal and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability toresolve conflict. Ability to effectively coordinate, facilitate, andpresent at stakeholder and public meetings. Ability to workindependently to apply engineering principles and practices to thesolution of engineering problems. Experience in managing andcontrolling multiple project schedules and budgets. Schedulingsoftware experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software(Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Ability to complete OSHA safety,confined spaces, and first aid training. Valid driver's license and agood driving record at time of application, during the selectionprocess, and throughout employment. Work occasionally requires standing and walking. SensoryRequirements: Work has standard vision requirements. Vocalcommunication is required for expressing ideas by means of the spokenword. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken wordlevels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computerdata, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, useof measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment, andobserving general surroundings and activities.
