Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Responsibilities The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Physician (Gastroenterologist). The Physician (Gastroenterologist) will function in the Gastroenterology department within Medicine Service. This position will start at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center campus and relocate to the future Hudson VA Clinic (or surrounding area) upon opening in 2027 A Healthcare System Serving Ohio, Indiana and Michigan (VISN 10) advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. Clinical duties will consist of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies and managing a full array of GI disorders including liver conditions and inflammatory bowel diseases. A specific charge will be to build a thriving GI specialty program in Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) across Northeast Ohio. Interested applicants must be US Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and be proficient in all basic endoscopic procedures. Candidates will be eligible for an academic appointment through the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
