Position Summary We are seeking a VDC Engineer to provide cutting-edge Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) support for our estimating and project teams. This role emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving to enhance understanding, prevent issues, and ensure project success. Key Tasks and Responsibilities u00b7 Develop 3D models and drawings for heavy civil projects based on construction plans, sketches, and notes to support engineering, visualization, and submittals. u00b7 Assist in planning and coordination by building accurate models, identifying potential conflicts, and suggesting solutions. u00b7 Perform means and methods analysis, quantity takeoffs, and clash detection using VDC tools. u00b7 Provide georeferenced models, topographic data, and cut/fill analysis for site development. u00b7 Create visuals for proposals, including renderings, animations, and 4D model simulations. u00b7 Work with advanced technology, such as point clouds from LIDAR and drone surveys, to enhance design and construction workflows. u00b7 Collaborate with project teams to integrate models into construction operations, ensuring deliverables meet field requirements and project goals. u00b7 Contribute to the development of tools, standards, and resources that drive efficiency and innovation across the VDC team. u00b7 Stay current with industry tools and technologies, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. u00b7 Travel to job sites or meetings as needed to support project teams and maintain alignment on goals and deliverables. Skills and Abilities u00b7 Proficiency in CAD/BIM/VDC software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D. Experience with advanced tools (e.g., Dynamo, scripting) is a plus. u00b7 Strong understanding of 2D and 3D workflows, with the ability to interpret and translate contract drawings into actionable models. u00b7 Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address construction challenges. u00b7 Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to field teams. u00b7 Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow, with opportunities for training and professional development provided.
