Building Products Merchandising Superviso OREPAC BUILDING PRODUCTS JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Building Products Merchandising Supervisor Department: Sales Branch: Tacoma, WA Territory: Western WA Reports To: Plant Manager FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-exempt (Hourly) Management Position: No SUMMARY: OrePac Building Products is a wholesale building materials supplier providing product, sales, and technology solutions to the shelter industry. The Building Products Merchandising Supervisor works directly with the branch Merchandising Territory Manager and has significant influence in all areas regarding staffing, employee engagement and development, accountability, and daily direction and assignments. Responsible for maintaining the stock level, merchandising, cleanliness, and overall appearance of OrePacu2019s specified product lines in The Home Depot stores. This position requires commuting to stores within a defined territory on a daily basis, computer knowledge, and maintaining relationships with key associates and leaders within The Home Depot stores and OrePacu2019s staff. Timeliness of task completion, project initiatives, and store level execution are key to success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a full-time position with flexible hours. Hours may need to be extended or adjusted at any time, with or without notice, to meet the needs of the organization. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES u2022Create an environment of open communication and connection between The HomeDepot and the local OrePac branch. u2022Perform duties in a professional manner and behave in a way that represents the values of both The Home Depot and OrePac. u2022Execute Corporate and localized team goals and initiatives. u2022Quickly identify the root causes of issues in the field and respond with prompt solutions. u2022 Take ownership of assigned stores and build relationships with store management and store associates within the assigned territory. STORE APPEARANCE u2022 Replace merchandise and verify correct product positioning to support an easy shopping experience for customers. Ensure compliance and visual appearance of programs. u2022 Maintain aisle integrity by adhering to provided specifications. Responsible for cleaning and organizing aisles, cull carts, signage, and products. u2022 Work closely with third-party service providers (MET, Signature Retail Services, and CrossMark). INVENTORY u2022 Order on-hand levels against weeks-of-supply targets. u2022 Confirm the quality of products and packaging. u2022 Seek opportunities to improve inventory turnover. SALES u2022 Identify and report new product opportunities. u2022 Provide fast and friendly customer service to The Home Depot customers as needed. SAFETY u2022 Comply with the safety standards of both The Home Depot and OrePac. u2022 Perform store safety audits. Document and communicate safety concerns and injuries that take place during store service immediately or as soon as practicable. PROJECTS & MOBILE PHONE TASKS u2022 Perform project-related tasks as instructed and track progress in the mobile application. Responsible for completing all special projects by specified deadlines. u2022 Identify program improvement projects to work on at stores. u2022 Learn the complete functionality of mobile phone store service applications. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES u2022 Work with the Merchandising Territory Manager to provide feedback in areas of staffing, including (but not limited to) hiring, termination, rewarding and disciplining employees, training, assigning and directing work, and performance reviews. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be highly self-motivated and trustworthy. u2022 Must be reliable and dependable, with excellent attendance and punctuality. u2022 Strong reading and interpretation skills. u2022 Solid math skills, including the ability to perform basic algebra. u2022 Close attention to detail and high level of accuracy. u2022 Ability to problem-solve minor to intermediate issues quickly and effectively. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 to 3 years experience in a supervisory role in a warehousing, merchandising, service-related environment, or related experience; or any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
