You value quality, design, and collaboration, and you take ownership of your work while supporting customers and internal teams.You thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment, can manage multiple priorities, and are motivated to continuously improve designs, processes, and yourself.Responsibilities Design and develop electro-mechanical products including rugged computers, displays, test equipment, and related peripheralsManage assigned phases of product development including requirements interpretation, design reviews, prototype builds, and production readinessCreate and maintain detailed engineering documentation such as assembly instructions, part and assembly drawings, cable drawings, ICDs, and test plansSupport prototype builds, capture design data, and implement improvements through the Engineering Change processInterface with document management systems to release and revise engineering documentationCollaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customer ServiceSupport Manufacturing during production and provide sustaining engineering support for released productsAssist with internal service requests, production issues, and customer support activitiesParticipate in design reviews, quality meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiativesApply Design for Manufacturability, Cost, and Quality best practices to meet project goals and schedulesThis role may include additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 2-4 years of relevant experience in electro-mechanical packagingORMaster of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 0-1 years of relevant experienceORAssociate of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experienceExperience with 3D CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD or equivalent solid modeling softwareHands-on experience with mechanical assemblies, prototyping, and manufacturing supportPreferred QualificationsExperience designing ruggedized or industrial electro-mechanical systemsWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, forming, welding, and plastic moldingFamiliarity with environmental considerations such as shock, vibration, temperature, and humidityExposure to FEA, stress analysis, or thermal analysisUnderstanding of ASME Y14 drawing standards and ISO 9001 quality systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departmentsDemonstrated ownership, accountability, and commitment to quality and customer satisfactionAbout SystelRugged Compute Where Mission Meets Critical.
