Role Overview Creating solutions for everything from dining and nutrition to facilities maintenance and rehabilitative services, Sodexo partners with government agencies and military organizations to improve peopleu2019s quality of life and make a positive impact. Sodexo is seeking a strong General Manager for the United States Coast Guard in New London Connecticut. The General Manager will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of all culinary operations for the Coast Guard Academy Dining Facility. Ranked among the nationu2019s most prestigious institutions of higher learning, the Academy is proud to educate future leaders of Americau2019s multi-mission, maritime military force. Each year, approximately 200 graduates are commissioned as Coast Guard officers to help ensure the safety, security, and stewardship of our nationu2019s waters. This isnu2019t just collegeu2014itu2019s college with a purpose. What You'll Do + Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations ; a solid manager/leader who is perceptive and has attention to details that make a difference u2013 quality and presentation of food u2013 customer service u2013 + Be SERVICE focusedu2013 including providing excellent customer service in a welcoming dining environment. + Be proficient in use of online Food Management Systems for menu/recipe planning, ordering and inventory; + Demonstrate proven financial acumen/success: Food costs/ labor costs, budgets; + Support workplace inclusion activities; + Provide team leadership & training. What You Bring + have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement and leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively; + have a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance; + have high volume food service experience; + have contract food service experience, _preferred_ ; + have experience managing staff in a union environment, _preferred_ ; + can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and have a passion for a high level of customer service;and/or + prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
