Director of SEC & Financial Reporting

Description We are looking for an experienced Director of SEC & Financial Reporting to join our team in Austin, Texas on a contract basis. In this role, you will oversee critical financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals. This position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, with deep expertise in SEC filings, technical accounting, and leadership within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare, review, and submit accurate SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and other required forms, within established deadlines. u2022 Ensure financial disclosures comply with U.S. regulatory requirements and industry standards. u2022 Research and evaluate the impact of new accounting pronouncements on the organization. u2022 Collaborate with external auditors to manage quarterly and annual audit processes. u2022 Work closely with finance and accounting teams to gather, validate, and analyze data for reporting purposes. u2022 Develop and implement robust internal controls specific to real estate investments and property transactions. u2022 Create detailed financial reports for executive leadership and the Board of Directors. u2022 Provide support for M& A-related financial reporting, including due diligence and integration activities. u2022 Lead and mentor a team of reporting specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance. Requirements u2022 Extensive experience in preparing SEC filings such as 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K. u2022 Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles. u2022 Proven ability to manage audits and collaborate effectively with external auditors. u2022 Familiarity with financial reporting for real estate investments and property transactions. u2022 Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining internal controls over financial reporting. u2022 Experience supporting M& A activities, including financial due diligence and integration. u2022 Leadership skills with a track record of managing and mentoring teams. u2022 Proficiency in financial reporting tools and software.
