Thesuccessful candidate will participate in high-level clinical developmentand application of radiation oncology imaging, treatment planning, anddelivery systems to further high precision advancements in treatmentoptions and patient care. Our department is vibrant and growing with theFall 2024 opening of our dual-hub UW Health Cancer Center, EastparkMedical Center location, located on Madison's east side. The 469,000square foot state-of-the-art facility and introduced two new VarianTrueBeams, and a Varian Edge, Elekta Flexitron Remote Afterloadercoupled with Siemens multi-energy CT on rails. While beyond the scope ofthe present job description, proton therapy via a Hitachi gantry roomand fixed beam room with first-of-kind upright patient positioningsystem will be offered at the Eastpark location. In addition to theservices provided at our Eastpark location, the UW Health Universitycampus currently includes a Viewray MRIdian Linac with daily onlineadaptive radiation therapy, three Varian TrueBeams (one STx), an AccuRayTomotherapy HDA, and two Elekta Flexitron Remote Afterloaders. We offera broad range of special procedures, including SRS/SBRT, TBI, TSE, andbrachytherapy for a wide range of treatment sites (e.g., GYN, breast,prostate) with MRI-guided planning and BodyTom CT for imageverification. Advanced simulation capabilities are routinely integratedinto clinical practice including Siemens dual-energy computed tomographyand 1.5 T GE MR-simulator units.
