Field Service Technician

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description We are currently searching for a candidatewho will install equipment, train customers, execute warranty repairsand provide after warranty service on CNC Lathes and Machining Centers.Field Service Technicians are assigned Regional responsibilities andoperate directly from their residences. This position reports to theMidwest Technology Center in Schaumburg, IL. Duties involve overnighttravel from home to various customer facilities, located primarily inthe Milwaukee, WI area. Travel is required. Scope and Responsibilities:Essential duties include, but not limited to the following: Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for allemployees Install machines and accessories at customer stallation includes all necessary assembly, leveling, aligning,adjusting, calibrating and wiring of machines and accessories. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and software problems onmachines and accessories at customer sites. Test operation ofmachines and accessories after completing installation or repair Train customers on functions of the machines Learn new machinesfeatures and accessories as they become available Complete reportsdocumenting installation, assessment of reported problem, repairscompleted, parts installed Travel is required. Assignments willrequire overnight or multiple night stay. Utilize various testequipment for trouble shooting purpose, indicators, test bars, clampforce, gages, etc.... Education/Certification: 2-year technicaltraining in electronics, mechanical or machine tool assembly HighSchool Diploma Skills: 5 years experience in CNC maintenance andrepair Read/understand engineering drawings Ability to work on ownor in group while completing necessary tasks Ability to understandPLC HYD/Pneumatic circuits General computer skills Ability tolift up to 50lbs on a repetitive daily basis. Heavier lifting inexcess of 50lbs on periodic basis Ability to problem solve dependingon situation. Sound writing and reporting skills. Strong peopleskills. Pay range for this position is $25-$45 per hour.
