Join us and make a difference when it matters mostApply today and become a vital part of our teamPOSITION SUMMARYResponsible for developing, organizing and implementing adevelopmentally based, instructional educational program for an assignedage group in a clean and safe learning environment. Will ensure that thecurriculum meets the emotional, physical, cognitive, and social needs ofboth the individual child and the group.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDEDevelop age appropriate curriculum and lesson plans for the purpose orpresenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts relative to thechildrens needs.Plan, prepare and implement daily activities, both indoor and outdoor,as they relate to the curriculum (e.g. games, art, music, science,language, nutrition, playground, washing hands, etc.).Interact daily with the children, providing a positive environment andencouraging their involvement in activities.Model positive and effective adult/child behaviors (e.g. classroom, withparents, etc.) in all activities, contributing to the emotional,intellectual and social development of children and improving thequality of outcomes.Remain knowledgeable about each childs medical and developmentalhistory; maintain ongoing progress and developmental records.Assist in preparation of nutritional breakfast, lunch, and snacks thatcomply with established KDHE guidelines and meet the nutritional needsof the children.Conduct daily health checks and visually monitor individual and/orgroups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack and meal times,group or individual games, playground activities, quiet time, fieldtrips, classroom, play time, etc.), ensuring that environment is clean,safe and free of teract and communicate cooperatively and effectively with staffmembers, teachers, parents, and students. Maintain good communicationwith parents on a daily basis through the use of daily notes as well asface-to-face interaction.Report any observances of problems with children to Director of EarlyChildhood Development Center.Provide supervision over toileting/bathroom time, and diaper changes.Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDEEducation:High school diploma or GED equivalent required.Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field,preferred.Experience: 1-2 years experience in a preschool or childcare settingpreferred.Knowledge/Skills:Working knowledge and understanding of early childhood development andeducation desired.Desire to learn and understand the nee s of infant, toddler, andpre-school age children who have visual impairments or otherdisabilities.Sincere desire to help children learn, grow and gain new skills.Ability to communicate effectively with par
