POSITION:IT SpecialistSCHEDULE:Full Time; Day ShiftLOCATION: Middle School- RENO, NV 89512SALARY: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 Salary/monthTO APPLY:Direct Link - Page - note, employers may close jobs on the website at any time.SUMMARY:The IT Specialist will provide daily technical support and play a key role in maintaining the school's technology infrastructure. This position is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented professional to ensure the efficient and effective use of technology across all campuses. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced educational environment and managing a wide range of IT tasks from hands-on infrastructure work to end-user support.The IT Specialist provides technical guidance for resolving complex end-user issues across hardware, software, network connectivity, and other technology systems. This role includes supporting PCs, laptops, tablets, SmartBoards, printers, mobile devices, and hybrid hardware/software imaging setups, as well as configuring and deploying new systems. Responsibilities also extend to educational technologies, phone installation, and troubleshooting both PC hardware/software and classroom technology. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the IT team to deliver timely and effective support.MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's degree in the area of specialty or related field from accredited schools and 3+ years of related work experience.- School IT experience (preferred)- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, access points, LAN, VLANs, and network security.- Perform hands-on cabling tasks, including running, terminating, labeling, and organizing Ethernet and low-voltage cables to support network expansion and classroom technology needs.- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues (wired and wireless), including switch/AP troubleshooting, cabling faults, IP conflicts, and bandwidth-related problems.- Provide daily on-site technical support for staff and students, addressing tickets related to hardware, software, connectivity, printing, AV, account access, and classroom device issues.- Support AV systems and meeting-room technologies, ensuring smooth operation of projectors, SmartBoards, display panels, sound systems, and video-conferencing equipment.- Manage setup, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, operating systems, software installations, and peripherals.- Demonstrate proficiency in networking equipment and design standards for both voice and data networks, including basic VoIP troubleshooting and phone installations.- Coordinate and facilitate the setup and breakdown of audio-visual and IT equipment for school events.- Oversee storage, inventory, and redistribution of classroom equipment during extended school breaks (winter, spring, and summer).- Maintain asset management systems and handle documentation for equipment assignment, recovery, and disposal.- Work with vendors to coordinate repairs, warranty replacements, and the return of serviced equipment.- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain technology solutions to staff in clear, non-technical language and provide user training when necessary.BENEFITS:Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance (PPO): Eligible employees may select an ins
