Bus Monitor Job Description: School Bus Monitors are responsible forassisting children with getting on and off of the school bus safety.Furthermore, they are responsible for their safety while aboard the busensuring that students are properly seated. School Bus Monitors mustensure that children get off of the bus at the correct stop and they arebeing released to proper parent/guardian. The minimum age requirementfor a School Bus Monitor is 21. School Bus Monitors are primarilyresponsible for assisting children with getting on and off of the schoolbus at all times. 1.School Bus Monitors are to ensure children areproperly seated and facing forward at all times and remain seated whilethe bus is in motion. 2.School Bus Monitors servicing special needsvehicles should ensure children are wearing their seatbelts at alltimes. 3.School Bus Monitors are to ensure children are allowed off ofthe bus at their proper stop and are released to their guardian / parentif so applicable. 4.School Bus Monitors are to maintain order aboard theschool bus at all times. 5.School Bus Monitors are to follow basicprinciples of child safety at all times. 6.School Bus Monitors are toestablish good relationships with their bus driver(s), school staff,parents and children. 7.School Bus Monitors are to ensure all childrensafely get on and off of the bus at school or at the completion of theirbus run.
