FP&A and Strategy Associate/Manager

We are seeking a high-performing finance professional to join a growing global business in a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO. This position blends FP&A, commercial/business analysis, and high-impact special projects, with direct exposure to the CEO and executive leadership team.This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong analytical capability with sound business judgment—and who is motivated not just to analyze the business, but to drive outcomes.What We’re Looking ForSomeone who understands how businesses should work—and is energized by helping fix what doesn’tComfortable working independently and directly with senior leadersEqually willing to build models, create decks, and roll up sleeves to drive initiatives to completionIntellectually curious, highly driven, and motivated by real responsibility and impactAdditional DetailsReports directly to the CFO; frequent interaction with the CEO and leadership teamIn-office role in Shelton, CT with 10-20% remote flexibilityLight travel (<10%)Role OverviewThe role has three core components: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)Own and enhance financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processesAnalyze actuals vs. plan and provide actionable insights to leadershipSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reviews Business & Commercial AnalysisConduct customer, project, and profitability analysis to support decision-makingIdentify, quantify, and help execute cost-saving and margin-improvement initiativesPartner with cross-functional leaders to evaluate tradeoffs and investment opportunities Strategic & Special ProjectsLead and support ad hoc, high-priority initiatives of significant strategic valueDevelop data-driven recommendations for senior leadershipTake projects from analysis through execution, working across the organization#IndsrMinimum Requirements:Background in management consulting, investment banking, FP&A, or public accounting (valuation, transaction services, or complex modeling groups preferred)Two to eight years experience in the above fields or with comparable responsibilitiesPre-MBA or post-MBA candidates welcomeExceptional Excel and financial modeling skills; strong data analysis capabilityClear, concise written and verbal communication with strong presentation skillsStrong business acumen with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindsetCPA is a plus, but not requiredAbout Sperry:Sperry Rail is on a mission critical journey to revolutionize the Rail Flaw Detection industry.
