Opportunities Abound at SOUNDSOUND Behavioral Health is growing and welcoming an Accounts Payable/Payee/Payroll Manager to our team in Tukwila, WA!SOUND is one of King County’s most comprehensive providers of quality mental health and addiction treatment services, supporting our area’s most vulnerable populations.This position is responsible for overseeing all activities related to accounts payable, payee management, and payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all processes.This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional who enjoys building efficient systems, maintaining compliance, and contributing to the financial stability of a mission-driven organization.Schedule:Typically Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.Location:In office at our Tukwila office (6400 Southcenter Blvd, Tukwila, WA 98188).Applications will be accepted until February 6, 2026.This person will conduct general ledger analysis and reconciliations that support the preparation of monthly financial statements, while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.They will also help ensure that financial processes align with agency, customer, and regulatory requirements, and will be responsible for preparing and submitting required city and state tax filings, including sales tax and unclaimed property.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIESPayrollPlans, organizes, and leads Sound’s bi-weekly payroll process.Serves as the administrator of the payroll module of Sound’s HRIS.Prepares payroll integrations to the general ledger. Completes payroll-related account reconciliations; identifies and corrects reconciliation differences in a timely manner.Accounts Payable and TaxesEnsures timely payments of vendor invoices and team member reimbursements and maintains accurate records and control reports.Prepares month end and adjusts journal entries. Completes monthly account reconciliations; identifies and corrects reconciliation differences in a timely manner.Adds and maintains vendor information in Sound’s financial system of record , noting reasonableness of vendors.Prepare tax filings for excise and business occupation taxes.Serves as the administrator for Sound’s corporate credit card program.PayeeEnsures timely payments of payee vendor invoices and client spending and maintains accurate records and control reports, in compliance with Social Security Administration and other requirements.Reporting and AnalysisPrepares variance analysis reports.Provides various recurring and/or ad hoc financial reports and analyses.Helps ensure that the organization is fully prepared for its annual financial audit and participates appropriately throughout the audit. Assists with preparation of annual Form 990 tax filing.Coordinates and reports yearly on unclaimed property.Team Member SupervisionSelects, trains, supervises, and provides ongoing support to assigned new team members.Plans, assigns, and directs work; supervises daily activities of assigned team members as needed.Manages performance, providing coaching and recognition, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and taking corrective action as necessary.SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONSActs as a technical resource for non-accounting team members.Performs other duties as assigned.KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPSEstablishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with the Accounting team, Sound team members, clients, vendors, and other professionals.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in business/accounting required.At least five (5) years of related experience required.At least two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.Lean process improvement training and experience preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExtensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related principles and procedures.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business contracts and/or grants, spreadsheets, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills; detail-oriented with consistently accurate results.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with automated accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter preferred), and accurate keyboarding and ten-key skills.Excellent verbal and written communication and personal interaction skills, with an emphasis on customer service and support. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, with the ability to provide guidance to others involved in a problem-solving process.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of clinical or technical information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Knowledge of HIPAA requirements that pertain to client information and client privacy.Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with team members at all levels, clients, and vendors, and with varying educational, professional, and economic backgrounds; ability to work compassionately with people having mental illness.Ability to function as a member of a team, leading within the scope of the position and contributing whenever possible.Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, manage multiple duties and priorities, and maintain high standards for accuracy, productivity, and confidentiality.Must successfully pass criminal background checks.PHYSICAL DEMANDS To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day.
