SWIP provides a drought resilient water supply for the City of Santa Monica by producing up to 1,680 acre-feet per year of advanced treated recycled water through the advanced water treatment facility, stormwater harvesting, and upgrades to the Santa Monica Urban Runoff Recycling Facility. Treatment process include membranes, cartridge filters, reverse osmosis, and ultraviolet advanced oxidation.Under supervision of the Chief Plant Operator, as a Mechanic of the SWIP facility, youu2019ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our client can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Youu2019ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise. Youu2019ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment; lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions; replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment; tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators; examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences; install and set up new equipment; assist in keeping maintenance records; and perform other duties, as required. Most importantly, youu2019lltake actionto ensure the safety, health, and well-being of you and your team.Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and weu2019ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the worldu2019s most challenging Operations Management projects, together.#omfs #bia #ourjacobs u2022 Possess a valid driveru2019s license with no major infractions.u2022 Three (3) years of experience in the maintenance of wastewater, advanced water, or water treatment plants and related equipment, or similar industrial setting.u2022 Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and instruments used in the maintenance, repair, and calibration of mechanical equipment.u2022 Knowledge of basic electrical.u2022 Ability to diagnose malfunctions and determine effective courses of action for correcting them.u2022 Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).u2022 Proficiency in safely using hand and power tools.Ideally, you'll also have:u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.u2022 CWEA Mechanical Technologist Grade 1 or above is preferred.u2022 Familiarity with the principles and practices of water, advanced water, or wastewater treatment plant operations and process control.u2022 Forklift and / or heavy equipment experience.u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.u2022 Possess experience coordinating maintenance activities with operational needs and evaluating maintenance policies and objectives.Working Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
