Summary Position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Responsibilities This is an open continuous announcement to fill Staff Psychologist vacancies in the Mental Health Care Line at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and qualified candidates will be considered as vacancies become available. The Staff Neuropsychologist will serve in the Assessment and Intensive Treatment Division, Mental Health Care Line, at the Cincinnati, VAMC. The primary duties involve Neuropsychological and Psychological assessment. Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: The Neuropsychologist's primary duties involve outpatient and inpatient neuropsychological and psychological assessment. The Neuropsychologist will provide diagnostic services, including testing, assessment, interpretation of the findings, for Veterans with a range of neurologic conditions (e.g., traumatic brain injury, stroke, and dementia) as well as psychiatric conditions (e.g., PTSD, depression, and substance abuse), and other medical conditions. Many patients have complex conditions requiring advanced assessment and diagnostic skills. The Neuropsychologist will provide consultation to health care providers about assessment findings for patients to ensure that care is collaborative, coordinated, and integrated within the Medical Center. The Neuropsychologist will develop recommendations to address cognitive, behavioral and/or psychiatric difficulties identified through the Neuropsychological/Psychological evaluation. The Neuropsychologist will also be involved in the training of interns, practicum students, and/or postdoctoral fellows, as well as possibly trainees in Neurology, Psychiatry, Geropsychiatry, Nursing, and Geriatric Medicine, which may include both supervision and participating in didactic seminars, as appropriate. The Neuropsychologist will participate in relevant professional activities such as the Psychology Training Program, Training Committee, and Neuropsychology Department Staff Meetings with opportunities to serve on other Medical Center, VISN, or National VA committees.
