Our hospitals, care sites and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence. _Care Companion_ _Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia_ _PRN, Days(Two twelve hour shifts during during the weekdays and one twelve hour shift on weekends every six weeks minimum; 36 hours every six weeks required from 7AM to 7PM; Holiday rotation when needed)_ Job Summary: A Care Companion provides basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. As part of our team, the Care Companion is responsible for sanitizing and cleaning patientsu2019 rooms, monitoring patientsu2019 health and vital signs as well as assisting patients with basic needs like feeding and grooming. Essential Functions: u2022 Provides support to the patient including, but not limited to, care and comfort, personal care and hygiene, toileting, and mobility. u2022 Creates a safe environment for patients. u2022 Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns. u2022 Provides high-level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors and all employees. u2022 Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
