Role Overview We are seeking a mid-career / senior Industrial Engineer to support and evolve production operations in Cortland, Alabama. This role applies Industrial Engineering principles, modern analytics tools, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and guide manufacturing decisions for complex space systems. Key Duties / Responsibilities u2022 Apply advanced Industrial Engineering principles to evaluate and optimize production processes. u2022 Partner with facilities engineering to plan new production lines and factory layouts. u2022 Support Manufacturing Engineers with standards development and performance analysis. u2022 Build discrete-event simulations to analyze future production strategies, identify constraints, and optimize workflows. u2022 Analyze data systems to identify issues and drive continuous improvement solutions. u2022 Develop tools and solutions that support scheduling, cost optimization, and production performance. u2022 Lead and sustain process improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes. u2022 Mentor less experienced Industrial Engineers. u2022 Collaborate with production operations to understand manufacturing processes and provide data-driven recommendations. u2022 Support occasional off-shift or weekend work to maintain production schedules. u2022 Work cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Program Management across the product lifecycle. Work Environment This position operates in a high-paced, digitally enabled production environment. You will work with PLM, MRP, MES, analytics platforms, simulation software, and other tools that support modern manufacturing. Occasional off-shift or weekend work may be required to support critical production needs. Collaboration with engineering, operations, and program stakeholders is a core component of this role. Basic Qualifications: u2022 Minimum 3+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering in a production or manufacturing environment. u2022 Project management experience. u2022 Experience developing, monitoring, or reporting cost and schedule performance metrics. u2022 Experience creating production schedules, forecasts, or resource-loaded staffing plans. u2022 Experience with discrete-event simulation of production processes. u2022 Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Desired Skills: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience). u2022 Experience launching or scaling new production lines or factories. u2022 Leadership experience, including team guidance or conflict resolution. u2022 Experience with tools such as SAP, Apriso, VECAMS, Tableau, Simio, or similar systems. u2022 Experience developing and executing production ramp-up plans. u2022 Strong verbal and written communication skills. u2022 Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple assignments. u2022 Experience in production operations or new program introductions. u2022 Ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior leadership. u2022 Active Secret security clearance (preferred). Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
