Commercial Lender - Support

Description We are looking for an experienced Commercial Loan Servicing Operations Specialist to join our team in New Haven, Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in banking operations and commercial loan servicing, who is ready to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our lending processes. As a long-term contract position, this opportunity offers the chance to play a vital role in supporting our commercial lending portfolio while collaborating with various departments. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage the full range of back-office operations for commercial loan accounts, including processing payments, adjustments, advances, and payoffs. u2022 Handle loan boarding and booking into the banku2019s system, ensuring data is accurate and processed in a timely manner. u2022 Monitor and execute transactions such as loan payments, escrow, and fees while adhering to regulatory and internal compliance standards. u2022 Process and review modifications, extensions, renewals, and covenant monitoring for commercial loans. u2022 Reconcile general ledger accounts related to commercial lending, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support accurate financial reporting. u2022 Address inquiries from internal teams and clients regarding commercial loan accounts, offering prompt and reliable assistance. u2022 Collaborate with credit, risk, and audit teams to address discrepancies, support audits, and refine operational processes. u2022 Prepare and evaluate reports on loan portfolios, payment histories, and exceptions to ensure data integrity. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to system upgrades that enhance servicing functionality. Requirements u2022 At least 2u20133 years of experience in commercial loan servicing within a financial institution. u2022 Proficiency with banking systems such as Jack Henry, Fiserv, or similar platforms for managing commercial loan accounts. u2022 Strong understanding of commercial loan concepts, documentation, and regulations, including credit agreements and collateral requirements. u2022 Experience with financial reconciliations, loan boarding, and other operational processes in commercial lending. u2022 Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. u2022 Outstanding communication and problem-solving abilities, paired with a customer-focused mindset. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related office technology. u2022 Knowledge of industry best practices and a commitment to maintaining compliance standards.
