Join us and be part of the next wave of transformative care at Cleveland Clinic.Cleveland Clinic’s H60 Neuroscience Unit is a specialized unit that oversees multiple neurology conditions, such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, brain and spine tumors, Parkinson’s Disease, epilepsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, degenerative braindiseasesand spinal disorders., and provides caregivers with a lot of versatility and exposure. Nurses on this unit become stroke-certified, receive comprehensive stroke education and float toorthopaedic, general surgery and oncology units six months afterhire.A caregiver in this position works nights/7pm-7am/40hrs per week/3-12's, and 4 hours from home.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Facilitate communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments and unitsregardingissues related to patient care.Ensure continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinate patient admitting, discharges, transfers and other operational issues.Review major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.Provide ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care providers.Counsel employees on performance issues, administer initial correctiveactionsand collaborate in monitoring attendance issues.Alert Nurse Manager of significant clinical or other performance issues.Participate in interviewing,selectingand appraising the performance of employees.Monitor the adherence to EEO/AAP goals and guidelines.Administer Nursing Institute, departmental and CCpoliciesand procedures.Supervise andparticipatein the daily delivery of patient care on assignedunit/area.Preparescheduleof work assignments, assuring adequate coverage on all shifts.Participate in and support quality improvement projects, outcomestudiesand research initiatives.Participate in department groups and committees as assigned.Assistin orienting new personnel, continuing education and in-service educational programs.Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursingBachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (Certification must be presented upon hire)Two years of recent clinical nurse experiencePhysical Requirements:Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum hourly: $37.50Maximum hourly: $57.60The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
