If you want to be part of tomorrow's health today, we want to hear from you.As a Platform Engineering Manager on the CoverMyMeds (CMM) team, you'll lead a team of platform engineers responsible for building and operating the infrastructure that enables CMM's product development. Your team maintains critical shared systems-both modern cloud-native platforms and legacy on-premises infrastructure-that 400+ developers depend on daily. This is a people leadership role. You won't be writing code, but you'll need enough technical fluency to review your team's work, make informed tradeoffs, and advocate effectively for platform investments. Your success will be measured by your team's effectiveness, the reliability of the systems they own, and the experience of the developers who build on your platform.At this time, we are not able to offer sponsorship for employment visas. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for current or future sponsorship.What You'll Do:Lead and develop your teamManage a team of 4-6 engineers, including senior individual contributorsHire, onboard, and retain strong platform engineersConduct regular 1:1s, provide feedback, and support career growthBuild a team culture that balances operational excellence with sustainable paceDeliver platform capabilitiesPartner with other engineering managers to plan and execute platform initiativesOwn delivery of your team's roadmap commitments while managing operational loadNavigate the tension between building new capabilities and maintaining existing systemsManage contractors and vendors as neededOperate in a regulated environmentEnsure your team's work meets SOX and ITGC compliance requirementsParticipate in change management, architecture review, and audit processesBalance governance requirements with development velocityServe your internal customersUnderstand the needs of product engineering teams who depend on your platformTranslate developer pain points into platform improvementsCommunicate platform changes, incidents, and roadmap clearly to stakeholdersRepresent platform engineering organizationallyCoordinate with peer engineering managers on shared responsibilitiesContribute to technical strategy and infrastructure investment decisionsEscalate blockers and advocate for your team's prioritiesExperience You'll Need:Degree or equivalent experience, and typically requires 9+ years of relative experience including 1+ years of leading engineering teams with direct experience managing individual contributors (includes hiring, developing and retaining technical talentBackground in software engineering, SRE, or platform/infrastructure engineeringFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure concepts (we use Azure), containerization (Kubernetes), and CI/CD practicesAbility to review technical work, ask good questions, and recognize qualityUnderstanding of infrastructure-as-code approachesComfort with ambiguity and working thru competing priorities, in a large complex organizationClear written and verbal communication
