Apply today and be part of shaping the futurewith usu201d_ Position Overview: Siemens Mobilityis seeking to fill a new Field Service Technician position in Chicago, IL toassist in the coordination and implementation of all phases of the service andmaintenance activities of our SIEMENS CHARGER locomotives. You will also beresponsible for assisting in various maintenance activities with our customers,training their maintenance personnel, and advising on the best maintenancetechniques. Setting a safe work environment and proactively supporting our customers isessential to the function. You will interact with the operational, engineering,and dispatching departments for the railroad's safe, cost-effective, andefficient operations. This position will work a first or third shift. (6am u2013 2pm or 10pm to 6am) Position will includea weekend day included in 5-day work week. Shift hours can change based oncustomer schedule and maintenance needs. What your day-to-day will look like: + Providepositive customer service experience by establishing a rapport withCustomer management and maintenance facility personnel. + Ensurethe provision of high-quality technical advice to the customer'smaintenance workforce to improve the equipment reliability of the Chargerfleet. + Ensureresponsiveness and support to finishing the troubleshooting and repairsassigned to service requests. + Ensurethe delivery of ongoing system operation training for the customers. + IdentifyNon-conformance issues and improvement recommendations. + Assiststhe local customer staff in assigned troubleshooting and repair works. + Ensureaccurate communication between the customer, our Rail Support Center, andthe field team when required. + Givefeedback to the team regarding performance, quality, and efficiencyissues. + Workwith 3rd party vendors, such as Cummins, to ensure proper operation ofvendor components installed on the locomotive. + Continuallyprogress customers' maintenance practices to support the Chargerlocomotive as intended by the manual. To thrive in this role, you have: + Associateu2019s degreein electrical technology or other technical subject areas or a minimum of2+ years of electrical/mechanical experience working in an industrial ormanufacturing environment. + Experiencetroubleshooting Electrical (both AC and DC circuits), Mechanical, andPneumatic systems. + Experienceinterpreting electrical schematics and drawings. + Excellentlydemonstrated English language technical communication skills. + Proven skills withall Microsoft Office (including Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint) products. + Ability to travel10% + Setting you apartfrom others would be experience in rolling stock (railroad) maintenanceand commissioning or other rail-related experience as well as knowledge ofRailroad Regulatory, FRA requirements, and guidelines.
