Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in assisting clients with their tax preparation needs while ensuring compliance with regulations. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who excel in individual tax returns and are proficient in tax preparation software. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and file individual tax returns, including 1040, S-Corp, and C-Corp forms. u2022 Ensure all tax documents comply with federal and state regulations. u2022 Utilize tax software, Ultra Tax for accurate and efficient processing. u2022 Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation. u2022 Provide thorough reviews of completed tax returns to identify and rectify any discrepancies. u2022 Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. u2022 Offer guidance and support to clients regarding tax-related queries. u2022 Maintain organized records of all tax-related documents and filings. u2022 Work effectively under deadlines to ensure timely submission of tax returns. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in tax preparation, including individual tax returns. u2022 Proficiency in using tax software such as Lacerte and Ultra Tax. u2022 Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations. u2022 Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple client files. u2022 Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data accurately. u2022 Familiarity with 1040, S-Corp, and C-Corp tax forms. u2022 Commitment to meeting deadlines and ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
